Divots and Diamonds 2012
Monday, October 29, 2012 at 11:00 AM (CDT)
Join us for the 5th annual 'Divots and Diamonds' Celebrity Golf Classic on Monday, October 29th, 2012.
The event will consist of a full day of activities, starting with introductions at 11 a.m. followed by a shotgun start at 11:30 a.m. The tournament will be played in a modified scramble format consisting of five person teams, each of which will include a celebrity from professional baseball fame.
This year's lineup of celebrity athletes includes several high-profile baseball stars such as Texas Baseball Hall of Fame inductee, Larry Dierker and current voice of the Chicago Cubs, Keith Moreland. Current major league players who have joined us in past tournaments include Ross Ohlendorf, Drew Stubbs, Zach Duke, Jake Arrieta, Daniel McCutchen, Scott Linebrink, and Huston Street.
The earlier you register, the higher your draft position in securing the celebrity you want on your team. Prizes will be awarded for winning teams and to contest winners in longest drive and closest-to-the-pin. And you'll not want to miss the chance to compete for major hole-in-one prizes on the par three holes!
Following the golf tournament, an awards ceremony will be followed by a Texas-style barbeque dinner and live music by custom song-writer, Doug McFarland. There will be an opportunity for celebrity autographs and pictures in addition to a bargain-rich silent auction.
Join us for a fun-filled day of golf while helping Cancer Connection ensure that no one in the Greater Austin Area has to face cancer alone.
